My years as a design-builder in Southern California remodeling and designing Mexican Colonial-style homes were visually full of textures and colors. This was my artistic inspiration to express myself as a painter. I layer vibrant colors with modeling paste using old-school plaster tools and palette knives. I also use a technique called scumbling, used by expert plasterers and master painters, to achieve a depth of lighter hues over darker colors.
In 2013, I received a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I now utilize my artistic expression within my practice.
Art brings joy to my table of interests.
